The truth is, every single one of your ex's at some point or another is the one you should've spent the rest of your life with. In fact, most strangers who make eye contact for more than a moment, those are the ones you should spend the rest of your life with. At times.
The truth is, the reason your company won't get the big international account is geography. Their head office is somewhere else and so they'll go with a company that's down the road from somewhere else.
The truth is, making lists of things is a very easy thing to do, to make things sound dramatic and an easy way out of disguising a laundry list of things that are rough drafts of things that could've made it into other places but you didn't feel like shoe-horning in the mechanics of what those things demand.

It's like when your lover finds your notebook and it has some song lyrics or a poem in it and maybe they take offense to the words. You try to explain, clumsily and embarrassed, that that was how you felt then and you meant it but it's not how you feel now but that doesn't make it any less important to who you are. (at 1:22 AM that makes total sense)
and also its like how hard we try not to give up. until we realize that we should just give up not trying. the first counts more to others. the second actually counts.
that first sentence? truth.
